After growing up in Marlborough, Rachael's tertiary education began in 1991 at Canterbury University where she studied for 3 years towards a 4 year degree in Chemical and Process Engineering before changing direction and completing a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accountancy extramurally through Massey University.   Rachael has worked in Chartered Accountants firms since 1994.

Rachael married Doug in 1994 and they have 3 motor bikes - a 1971 R75/5 BMW, a 1968 Triumph Trophy and the most recent addition, a 2004 Triumph Thruxton.

Rachael and Doug are proud parents of Megan and Jess.   When you can't find Rachael at work, she will be enjoying being a Mum.  Also playing tennis and golf, cruising on her motor bike, mountain biking or tramping.
